COPE Program

 

Co-Occurring Disorders Preparation & Education Treatment Program (COPE)

TERROS was one of the first behavioral health agencies in Maricopa County to treat mental illness and substance abuse in an integrated manner.  COPE simply continues TERROS' long-standing commitment to providing sound treatment for the multiple-diagnosed consumer.

COPE Treatment Program:

This program is specially designed to assist individuals who present with psychiatric disorders in combination with alcohol and other drug (AOD) problems.

Program Goals

The goal of the TERROS COPE Treatment Program is to help individuals who are interested in attaining and maintaining sobriety, controlling and managing their symptoms of mental illness, and developing lasting and effective coping skills.

Therefore, the program aims to:

introduce participants to a chemical-free way of coping,

bullet

educate participants about psychiatric symptoms,

bullet

provide participants with a social support network,

bullet

assist participants in achieving life-management skills,

bullet

help participants learn to recognize triggers to prevent relapse

Professionals trained in the area of caring for the unique needs of persons with co-occurring disorders

Treatment goals designed to be specific to each individual's needs

Treatment which includes education, symptom management, structure, maintenance and relapse prevention

Support networks and skills to build additional supports

Locations

COPE services are available at all TERROS sites except the HIV Prevention and Outreach site.
